- Surface and coating: identify the base material and what needs to be removed or finished. Do not assume an accessory suitable for one metal is suitable for every surface.
- Size: check the diameter and other listed dimensions against your tool's requirements.
- Attachment: compare the bore, spindle, thread or mounting system. Check which adapters or backing pads are included.
- Maximum speed: confirm the accessory's rated speed and follow both the tool and accessory manufacturers' instructions. Do not exceed the accessory's maximum RPM.
- Finish: compare the stated grit or grade and the product's intended application. If the required detail is missing, ask before ordering.
